About The Project
The Dream & Building the Project
This Cincinnati, OH homeowner in the Cherry Grove neighborhood had a stunning backyard with a pool perfect for relaxing and entertaining, but they lacked a comfortable outdoor space to escape the intense summer sunshine. Their dream was to add a louvered roof pergola that would provide shade, protect from rain, and still allow natural light to filter through. To take the design even further, they also wanted motorized screens for year-round comfort and privacy.
This was an intricate and highly customized project requiring precise planning and coordination at every stage. The build began with custom poured concrete footers engineered to support the structure and integrate seamlessly with the existing patio. Our team carefully cut back a section of the home’s roofline to create a perfect connection point for the new pergola, ensuring weatherproofing and aesthetic continuity.
To accommodate the home’s unique architecture, a custom manufactured panel section was fabricated to offset the pergola against the house, providing both structural strength and a clean, finished look. Every detail—from precision alignment to concealed electrical routing—was handled with care to maintain the sleek, modern appearance of this luxury outdoor addition.
Finished Project
The finished result is a stunning Azenco R-Blade motorized louvered pergola installed in a sleek black finish that perfectly complements the home’s exterior. As a certified Azenco dealer and installer, US Custom Creations ensured every component was precisely aligned and integrated for both performance and visual appeal. The pergola also featured a built-in ceiling fan with lighting, offering comfort and ambiance for both day and night gatherings.
To complete the outdoor transformation, we installed motorized screens by Templar Screens, seamlessly integrated into the pergola structure. With just the press of a button, the homeowner can enjoy shade, privacy, or full enclosure—creating the ideal space for entertaining, dining, or relaxing by the pool.
Cincinnati’s climate brings hot, humid summers and cool, rainy seasons, making this louvered system a perfect fit. The adjustable louvers allow sunlight to pour in during spring and fall, while providing instant shelter from rain or harsh summer heat. Combined with the motorized screens, this project delivers year-round comfort and extends the usable living space far beyond the warm months.
What was once a simple backyard patio is now a luxurious, climate-responsive outdoor retreat—engineered for durability, designed for beauty, and built to be enjoyed in every season.
